THE ROAD TO OPTIMAL HEALTH
To be truly healthy – in optimal health – requires a holistic approach. There must be a balance of all the aspects of health. It is important to: have good quality sleep for about 7-8 hours a night, exercise, a healthy diet free from inflammatory foods and toxins that are not conducive to optimal health, optimal gut health, optimal mental, emotional and spiritual health. We also need to eliminate all – or as many as possible – of the toxins and carcinogens in our environment that can compromise our health and make us sick. Reduce stress, both mental and emotional, through relaxation techniques such as meditation or massage.
It can be a difficult process, particularly for those who do not have the knowledge and do not know where to start. Also the world is filled with toxins and carcinogens – cigarettes, alcohol, chemicals, etc etc – so they don’t make it easy for us. But if we have the resources and the knowledge and the desire to be healthy, then – ‘when we know better, we should do better.’
At SPDT 4 LIFE we know better and we want to do better and help our patients and their loved ones to achieve optimal health. We have made it our mission to stay up to date with the latest evidence-based research and to work with the world leaders in their field to bring the best and latest cutting edge information to our patients.
To that end we are working hard to bring some very exciting changes to SPDT 4 LIFE. We will combine these new holistic, non-toxic therapies with the traditional and conventional treatments that we already offer and that have helped so many patients in their fight against cancer.
Cancer is an evolving and adaptive disease that has proven, more often than not, to require a ‘multi-pronged’ attack to slay it.
And that is why we focus on a synergistic attack – combining all the facets of building a healthy optimal immune system – with the tailored treatment programs designed specifically for each individual patient. We don’t just use the usual 3 options of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy! Our tool box is filled with many more weapons than that.
Latest figures have shown that approximately 90% of all cancers are a result of lifestyle and can be prevented. Previous estimates had the figure at 30-40%, but either way the fact remains that there are many things we can – and should do – to prevent cancer.
Excitingly research also shows that by changing our habits even after we have been diagnosed with cancer, can have significant effect on the disease. At SPDT 4 LIFE we are working with the latest evidence based science and world leaders to bring best practices and proven strategies to our hospital and our patients. And we will continue to do so.
Stay tuned for updates as we implement these new therapies.
